New Albums 2010
The list of big names in music who worked together on this album is very impressive."Dark Night of the Soul" was produced by Grammy winner Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley, Broken Bells) and Sparklehorse and involves star director David Lynch, too. Tracks include Iggy Pop, Nina Persson and Frank Black to name a few.
Maybe The Chemical Brothers new album does take you "Further", but it still has their typical, recognisable sound. Listen to "Swoon" on Vimeo.
The first album of a new band from Hamburg is our favourite at the moment. Experimental enough to be interesting, with electronics and voice samples, but at the same time pop enough to be nice and with beautiful female vocals. Try "Hundreds" .
Special thanks for the recommendation to the guy at Michelle Records in Hamburg, where we also bought Sophie Hungers new album "1983".
Those of you who are looking for more of a club sound on new vinyl could try this link; "Turn Up (the Music)" is a 12" by CAMO & KROOKED/NETSKY released on the "Hospital" label this April.
Paul Wellers 25th studio album "Wake Up the Nation" is one of the newest in our collection.
MGMT released their 2nd album "Congratulations" in April. Check the website; Who is MGMT? to find out more. The limited edition "scratch off" cover on the record definately makes a terrible mess.
Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings sound like an original soul recording from the late 60's. The new album "I Learned the Hard Way" was also recommended in Vogue magazine.
Young english duo "Blood Red Shoes" new album "Fire Like This" rocks. It was "album of the month" in the "Prinz" March edition. Check the website for the "Light It Up" video.
Watch the"Ambling Alp" video from the Yeasayers experimental new album "Odd Blood".
"Vampire Weekend" just released their 2nd album "Contra" (Jan 2010). It reminds some clients of the Paul Simon album "Graceland". Visit their website to have a listen and get a free download.
"Lost and Found" is a double vinyl compilation of "Real R'n'B and Soul". 25 rare tracks from the 50's and 60's which were selected with care by Keb Darge and the Modfather Paul Weller.
Last Years Albums 2009
Norah Jones new album "The Fall" is on the quiet side, but far from boring. Some tracks remind me of the Cowboy Junkies, which i like a lot. Listen in on the Norah Jones website.
The Big Pink (GQ Style calls them "East London Noise-Pop Romanticists") and their debut album "A Brief History of Love" seem to be the band of the moment, with interviews in major magazines and rave reviews. A track you can listen to here is called Velvet.
Yo La Tengo just brought out their new album "Popular Songs", which is nicely versatile and offers a lot to listen to. Two songs are available on their website Yo La Tengo.com.
An extremely convincing concert at Pragues Akropolis on 1st Oct 09 caused us to buy Sophie Hungers debut album "Mondays Ghost" which came out earlier this year.. Also an optical highlight as the double vinyl comes in semi-transparant white.
Pete Yorn with actress Scarlett Johansson. This new album was released 4th Sept and is called Break Up. Listen to the catchy single Relator.
The XX are a young english band whose first album got the "Album of the Month" title in the August edition of german magazine "Prinz". See and hear their stuff, for example Crystalised or Basic Space on YouTube

The Black Eyed Peas newest "The E.N.D." (Energy Never Dies) is surprisingly good. Surely you know and like I Gotta Feelin'
At Trichomania we also listen to Lili Allen's "It's Not Me, It's You" and the bar-jazzy "Quiet Nights" album by Diana Krall. Both ladies are soon due for concerts in Prague.
"Its Blitz". The Yeah Yeah Yeahs from New York played the Roxy in July. "Heads Will Roll".
The latest Depeche Mode and U2 albums "Sounds of the Universe" and "No Line On The Horizon" also still rotate in the salon. Not to forget Placebo with their latest album "Battle for the Sun". of course.
De Phazz added a big band to their lounge sound on the new album BIG.
The Franz Ferdinand album "Tonight" came out early this year, but is growing on us because of untypical songs like Lucid Dreams. Again on YouTube, wait for the somewhat dub-distorted-2nd-half of the song.
Jazzanova. "Of All The Things". Also already a 2008 album, but a favorite for many a client. "Let Me Show Ya"
MGMT. "Oracular Spectacular". One of the best albums 2008 and a psychedelic website. Who is MGMT?
A large collection of CD's completes the music selection and for example australian Singer/Songwriter
Jamison Youngs album "Shifting Sands of a Blue Car" is available on sale. We avoid listening to the radio. Of course, due to the "1 at a Time" salon concept, the music can also be turned off if you prefer silence.
